EWEBURN.
May 6. — We still enjoy, on the whole, beautiful weather hereabouts, broken only by an occasional short spell of rain. The hills have appeared twice lately clothed in their winter mantle, the last traces of the latter deposit just now only being visible — the result of the recent warm, sunny days.
Railway Traffic. — The mining industry continues to boom traffic on the Otago Central line, and waggoners are kept busy conveying dredging machinery and appliances inland.
Rabbits. — Babbiting operations are still conducted as briskly as ever, and as fair prices are obtainable, good wages are being made. Individual trappers are making £1 a day in some cases.
Homan Catholic Church. — The official opening of the Ranfurly Roman Catholic Church took x^lacc last Sunday, and a large concourse of people from all parts attended. A collection was made, the handsome sum of £110 being realised.
