(From Our Own Correspondent.) LYELL, May 4. The Manager of the Alpine reports: — "The No. 7 level has now been extended north by the contractors for a total distance of 110 ft. At the end of the drive a reef, sft wide, has been struck. It has the regular pitch and tinderlie, and contains gold, but so far only one shot has been put into it. The winze in the south end of No. 11 level has been sunk a further depth of 9ft, making a total depth of 71ft. The vertical reef mentioned m last report has now taken the place of the flat reef. It is a good, clean body of stone aboiyt sft wide, and a little gold can be seen in it occasionally." ,
