THE MUNGAROA RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
WELLINGTON, April 24.
The Board of Inquiry into the recent ■railway accident neir Mungaroa report that they consider Driver Smith erred very gravely in judgment in taking the train too far clown the grade before trying to stop it, and showed a lack of decision in not acting promptly at a critical moment. They also find his judgment failed him when he endeavoured to quickly slop the train when he observed the derailed waggon.
