The Tourist's Bargain.
The -tourist is so firmly convinced that he is being cheated on all hands during his travels that he occasionally oversteps tlie bounds of prudence.
"What is the price of this 'pin?" asked a' young man .in a Paris shop, handling a small silver brooch of exquisite workmanship. "Twenty francs, monsieur," said the clerk. "That's altogether too much," said tha young American.' "It's for a present to my sister ; I'll give you five francs for it." "Zen it would be I zat gave ze present to your sister," said the Frenchman, with a deprecatory shrug, "and I do not know thei young mademoiselle !"
