THE FIRST CONTINGENT.
WELLINGTON, April 12. The following are the names of the members of the No. 1 contingent supplied by Major Robin in his report as those who are in hospital and likely to be invali -ad back to New Zealand : — Arthur R. Taylor, No. 1 Company. Henry Sutherland, No. 2 Company. ' James Walker, No. 1 Company. , L. (?■ George) Arnold, No. 2 Company. John A. Barty, No. 1 Company. Charles A. Edwards, No. 1 Company.
J. T. (?) Taylor. (There are Wo Taylors, James and Thomas, both in No*. 2 Company. ) William J. Parkes, No. 1 Company. John Cabot, Wo. 2 Company. S. J. (?) Smith. (There are four Smiths in the first contingent— William H., Hugh, Harold, and Ernest J. R, bub no S. J.) This is in addition to the list published under Wellington, March 21. There is Borne confusion in the names reported, and 'Arthur K. (? R.) Taylor was advised previously.
The total original strength, including all officers, was 216, and, so far, at least 43 have been reported either killed, hurt, captured, or sick.
