THEATRICAL AND MUSICAL NOTES.

By Pasqujn. TUESDAY, April 17.

Mr P. R. Dix sends me a copy of his "Gaiety Souvenir Songster," issued in connection withi the Gaiety Company at the Auckland City Hall. Portraits are given of the members of the company, together with a number of tho songs sung by each. Collectors of programmes will certainly value the songster as a souvenir of Mr Dixs long connection with Auckland.

Dear Pasquin, — Here I am right in the heart of the new dredging boom. ~ The tale goes here that when you see three men talking together they are preparing to float a dredging claim. Well, you will be glad to hear that . Christchurch season was O.K. — finished to, nearly as big a hotise as at the opening, and the rsasoii right through was very regular. Wo. travelled overland — via rail to Springfield, , V sac.cc by coach (via the Bealey)- to Jackson's, tiiencs by rail to Gfoymouth, where we opened to a big house last night. To any admirer of Nature in all its rugged beauty I strongly advise a trip overland from Ohrjstchurcii to Greymouth. The scenery is simply grand — so grand at times as to become impres-s-ive. We had a cold, bleak, wet day to start with, but still we all manfully stuck to outside T'3ats to admire the marvellous scenery. We play short seasons in Coast towns, taking in race nights, 25th and 26th April, at Nelson (good old Slecipy Hollow) ; thence to Blenheim and Wellington. As you are aware, we are due in "our own" Dunedin again on May 21. We have made several changes in the company — I think you'll agree for the better. — Yours _still smiling, Harry Abbott, Northcots'ri ivinematograph Company.
