Wilson's br f Songbird, by Bill of Portland — Melodious, 3yrs (allowed 17lb), 6 13 3 Betting: 3 to 1 agst King Like, 4 to 1 Olaf, 7 to 1 Palmer and Songbird. The favouiite, with Songbird in close attendance, rounded the home turn in front. The latter was first into the straight, but at the distance Palmer came away, followed by Olaf, and won by three-quarters of a length. Time, lmm. 29* sec.
