LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held at the Land Office on Wednesday, and atterded by the Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland), and Messrs Clark, Dallas, Duncan, and Kizkpatrick. Anderson wrote accepting lpase in perpetuity over 1013 acres on Run 240b, Mount Pisa, as offered him by the board. — Received. Messrs D. Reid and Co., on behalf of the late lessee of section 23; block 111, and section 13. block IV, Nenthorn, applied for time to remove stock from the run in the event of their client not again obtaining a lease. — To be allowed 14 days from date of sale. The Mount Stuart Road Board forwarded statement of proposed expenditure of " thirds " and " fourths " for period 3rd July to 30th September, 1899. — Approved. jtanger Atkinson forwarded valuation for'improvements upon section 14, block XII, Strath Taieri district, over which John -Murray has bsen granted a lease in perpetuity.-— Valuation of £25 approved. ."danger Atkinson forwarded valuation for improvements upon the following sections:—Section 57, block V, Strath-Taieri, £5 6s; .section 56, do, £23 10s ; section 60, do, £87 IBs ; section 61, do, £14. — To be grouped and offered with valuation stated; E. M. Nolan to be allowed to remove boundary fence between sections 57 and 58, or to arrange with incoming tenant for the same. The Otago Fprmers' Association, on behalf of John Sloan, applied for time to remove stock and crops from Run 244b, in the event of not again obtaining a lease. — To be allowed 14 daj's from date of sale. Ranger Mackenzie reported on the applications by Maurice Curran and Donald M'Lean for license to occupy part of block XIII, Lower Hawera. — Curran's application was declined, and yearly license granted to M'Donald at rental of £1, with license fee of £1 Is. i District-surveyor Calder reported 0:1 the application by J. R. Smith for reduction of rental 0:1 seotjons 37 and 43, block I, Naseby, and also for a change of tenure. — Sections to be offered as a small grazing run at rental of lOd per acre, ranger to value improvements, present lessee to pay rent to September );ext on present license. Ranger Atkinson reported that he could not recommend any valuation for turnips sown on ssction 2, block IX, Huramoak ; section 4, block VIII, Nenthorn; and section 3, block VIII, Silver Peak, as crops had proved a failure. — Received. W. Cummins wrote asking that ha be allowed . valuation for fencing; erected by him upon sections on block XXXV and block XL, Town of Dunkeld, held by him under yearly license, but now to be offered for sale^by public auction. — To be allowed 14 days from date of sale to remove fencing. Samuel Hanger wrote re section 13, block V, JBlackstone, formerly held by him under yearly license. — To be allowed to remove any subdivisional fencing erected by himself, or to arrange for same with present licensee. : Annie Hood's application to purchase section 16, block IV. Swinburr, on deferred payment was approved. j
