AROUND THE WORLD.

(Fkoji Otago Witness Specials.)

Alexandra, Central Otago, Febraury 14. Dear Bis, — You know me for " an absent^ mirded beggar," so will .not apologise for neglecting to let yon know how things fare with Montgomery's Kinematograph Company. We ar» booming along merrily, doing phenomenal business right through to Dunedin. Y e conqveied Oaruaru, the noted bad show town, having packed houses on both uighfri?, 3ud we handed £4 15s over to the local piiiyiotic fund. Af Tirnaru we raked in even moie shekels, asd we were able to contribute £5 15s to the Empire's needs. Mr Edmund Montgomery's songs are in great demand, three and four encoies being insisted on, the audience often giving three cheers for " our boys at the front after his singing of " The defenders of our flag " and " The empire of the Earth." Mr Montgomery's singing of " The ab-sent-nimde'd beggar," to music of his own settmg, also calls forth enthusiasm and showers of coins nightly, neaily ;£3O having been collected in this way dm ing the last five weeks. An idea of the business we have been doing may be gathered from the Oarnaru Mail, January 30. "Montgomery's Kinematograph Company had the largest audience at Kurow known for years, and at Duntroon the management had -to turn money away." [In future all press exerpts must be reprint; no writter copies will be accepted. — Bis.] We have just received our first consignment oi war films. Mr Ivloiitg ornery is leaving no stone unturned to place before the Moaland public the finest kinematograph exhibition touring. Our London agents are holding .-fioOO ' to be expended in the purchase o! the best war. films obtainable. Mr Harry Hall, the funmakcr, is responsible for many aching sides, being a big favourite. We are now doing the Olago goldfields, and will open in Dunedin some time in March. Monk and Raymond join the rest of the company in wishing " the only Bis " success.— • Yours truly, WILL JAMESON, (Montgomery's Kinematograph and Concert Company).
