Store Cattle. — Wright. Stephenson, and Co. sold 128 at Burnside to-day as follows : — 25 forward four-year-old bullocks at £G ss, 17 do at £5 15s, 40 forward three-year-old bullocks at £5 10s, and 46 forward two and a-half year-o'.d bullocks at SA 103. Country Sale. — Maclean and Co. report having held a very successful eale of sheep, lambs, and cattle at Owaka on Thursday last, when they put through over 2000 sheep and lambs and 60 head of catttle. Lambs sold at 8s to 10s 2d, ewes and lambs at 8s to 10s, sheep at 7s Id to 12s Bd, ewes to 13s 3d, cattle at 10s to £Q 2s Gd. Privately, during the week, they have sold as follows: — Papanui, over 4000_sheep and lambs; Clinton, 1500 sheep and lambs and 20 head cattle; Balclutha, 750 sheep and lambs and 210 head cattle ; Milton, 2300 sheep and lamb 3; Taieri and north, 900 sheep and lambs and 50 head cattle. The Farmers' Agency Company (Limited) report having held sales during the last week at Clinton, on Thursday, the Bth hist. ; at Wedderburn, on Saturday, 10th; and at Waipiata, on Monday, the 12th. The demand for all classes of stock was good, resulting m nearly every line finding purchasers at very satisfactory prices. Central Otago Sheep Sales. — Donald Reid and Co. report having held their first Central Otago sheep sales at Weddeii burn and Waipiata on Saturday, the 10th, and Monday, the 12th iust. At each centre the entry totalled about 5000 sheep, most oi which were crossbreds. There was a very large attendance at the sales, buyers being present from Timaru, Waimate, Oamaru, and Clinton, as well as graziers and fanners irom the sui'rounding districts; also from Macraes, Middlemarch, and Palmerston. The sheep offered were in excellent condition, and for all classes theie was a splendid demand. Good lines of wethers and fine young ewes met a particularly good sale, and prices realised were very satisfactory to sellers. Lambs also met a good sale. We sold four-tooth wethers at | 12s lid, do at 12s 6d to 12s Id, crossbred lambs at 9s> 4d, full-mouthed ewes at 10s sd, broken- ' mouthed do at 7s lOd, two-tooth ewes fi lls 3d. Dalgety and Company (Limited) repott as follows : — The first of the series ot the Otago Central autumn stock sales was held at Wedderburn on Saturday, 10th, and Waipiata on Monday, 12th inst. About 3000 sheep were yarded at the foinier place and GOOO to 7000 at, the latter by the I various agents. Ihere was a very large gathering of settlers from the &\monndmg distucts, and also a considerable number of buyers from Oamaru and South Canterbury, The sales v. ere most satisfactory, every lot finding purchasers at prices which have not been realised at these sales for many years. at very satisfactory prices. Dalgefcy and Company (Limited) report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr John Ewing, at the Downs, St. Bathans, on Friday, 9th inst. Owing to the inclemency of the weather theie was not a very large attendance, but the bulk of those present were intent on business, and the result was one of the best sales ever held in Central Otago. The flock was composed entirely of ewes and lambs, and as they were well bred and in capital condition they exactly fitted the demand, which is at present very keen for this class of stock. Cattle and horses also brought full market rates. The following are the prices realised: — 258 four-tooth ewes at 13s; 405 six and eight-tooth ewes, principally eight-tooth, 12s 9d; 621 lambs, 9s 4d ; broken and unbroken light horses, £10 to .£ls ; mixed cattlo at satisfactoiy prices. We also sold, on account of Mr William Hanger, St. Bathans, 300 wethers at 11s lid. Sheepskins. — Moderate catalogues were submitted on Tuesday, and a better demand was experienced than has lately been the case, all lots finding ready buyers at a slight advance. Itabbit&kina.— The quantity offering is small, but the. tiade soon absorb all lots at full market values.

Hides.— The demand is good, and it is not difficult to place all coming to hand at full rates.

Fat and Tallow.— These are also experiencing some extra competition, a.nd prices have hardened consideiably. Gram. — Wheat: There is good, fair demand for "piime" lots of velvet and Tuscan at 2s 5d to 2s 6d (extra prime quality sometimes .a. little more) ; other s&its not in request at 2s 2d to 2s 4d; fowls' wheat, 1& lid to 2s Id (demand lair). Oats : Demand is equal to the supply m the meantime, and best samples are selling at 2s to 2s Old; extra milling (Sutherlands) up to 2s Id; medium to good, Is lOd to Is Hid. Barley: Pending arrival of samples of the new ciop bu&mcss is limited to small lots for milling purposes. Prime mailing, nominally, vorth about 3s. Potatoes. — ]STo Derwents yet in the maiket. Kidneys suffered a dtshne, and may be quoted to-day at up to £2 10s, with limited demand. Chaff —Maiket not too heavily supplied with prime quality, and, if leally well cut, sound and heavy, can be ieiclily placed at £3 ; medium to good, £1 10s to £'2 15s; other hard to t,eH at, say, &1 to £2 ss.

Glass Seed. — Samples ol new crop are coming to hand, but sales are not yet liiuneious, as quality is not up to usual standard. Buyers aia offering J 3 to Is 4d, acceding to quality, for fanners' lots. Market js hardly yet established, but &o lbv indications point to low pi ices, with slow demand.
