Messrs A. lloritzson. and Co. report for week ending February 8 : — "Wheat. — The demand is quiet, millers in the meantime buying very sparingly, and only prime quality at that. The demand for fowl feed is fairly brisk. We quote: Best velvet, 2s 6d; medium, 2s sd; best Tuscan, 2s Gd to 2s 7d; medium, 2s sd; fowl wheat, 2s to 2s 2d. Oats: There is a good demand at lata quotations. We quote : Best feed, 2s to 2s o^d; medium and inferior, Is 7d 'to Is lid per bushel; Sutherlauds, 2s Id. Barley: Feed sorts aie qicted st Is Gci t« Is 9d ; milling, Is lOd to 2s; prime malting, 2s 9d to 3s 4d ; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Ryecorn, nominally, 2s to 2s Gd, no sale Flour: 'We quote £6 10s. Oatmeal in 25's, JBII. Pearl barley, £10 10s. Bran. £3. Pollard, £3 ss. Nelson hops are quoted at Sd to lid (f.0.b.). Chaff : Market fairly well supplied. Prime, .£3 ; medium, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s 6c"!. Ryegrass : There is a fair demand. Buyers' ideas of values a-re from Is 6d to Is 9d for ordinary farmers' dressed seed, and up to 2s for exceptionally good samples. Samples of the new seed arc now offering, but no sales have been made yet. We quote : Fanners' diessed, Is 3d to Is 9d ; machined, 2s 3d to 3s; extra, to 3s 6d per bushel. Cocksfoot, 3^d to 4d for farmers' lots, and 4Jd to 5d for machined. Linseed, JEIO. Pressed straw, 27s Gd. Clover hay, £3 to £?, ss. Nitrate of soda, £15. Clovers, rape, etc., all fresh. Potatoes. — Kidneys, £1 15s to £3 per ton for prime; medium, £2 5s to £2 10s. Hides, 3|d to !%&, according to weight and cor.dition. Tallow.— Rough fat, 12s to 13s ; rendered, 13s to 17s per cwt, according to qxtality. Horsehair, Is 2d to Is 4d. Sheepskins.— Green crossbreds sell from 5s 6d to 7s Gd ; dry crossbreds, 2s 3d to 7s 6d ; merino, 2s 4d to Is; extra, 7s 6d to Ss; pelts, Gd to Is 9d. We held our usual sale of skins on Tuesday. There was a fair demand, but prices are quite Id per lb lower all round than those ruling a month ai;o. Rabbitskins. — Best winters are worth from 16d to 17id; selected to 181 d; springs from lid to 14d ; summer from 7d to 9d ; small, 3d to Gd pc • lb. Wool. — Our jiext sale will be held on February 22. We have now erected a complete clover-clean-ing plant, and all' our other machinery up-to-date is the finest plant in the Soul hern Hemisphere. Farmers are invited to inspect. We are ready to start cleaning now. Please consign to our siding. FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Eggs. — Vickery's preservative, 22s 6d per case. Butter pieservits>s, Is Gd per lb ; salt butter, milled and dairy, 7Jd first grade, Glcl second grade, 5Jd third grade. Pigs.— For good quality, i\d, with a good demand. Roosters, 4s to 4s Gd ; hens, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; ducks, 4s to 4s 6d per pair. Turkejs, in demand — Cocks from lOd to lid ; hens, 7d to 7Ad. These quotations are for prime quality.
