HURRAH FOR THE BRAYS BRITISH SOLDIER.

Thousands iioav are fighting, 'neath the old Red, White, and Blui-, And thousands more are waiting, to help oid England through, For foes have sAvorn to thrash us, and what they've said they mean, For they dispute our rights in the Transvaal, and insult England's Queen. So thousands now are fighting, and thousands are ready to go To uphold Britannia's honour, and ciush her daring foe. Then hurrah 101 the brave British soldier, That stands by the old free- land, And amongst them you'll find none bolder, Than our gallant boy 3 irorn NeAv Zealand! Yes, thousands again are fighting 'neath the old Sed, While, and Blue, And they'll slioav our foes and tyrants what Britain still can do, For although she's long been silent, and free from fields of gore, They'll find that the brave British soldier is as fearless as he Avas of yore. And every little island, beneath old England's flag, Has shown its love for the Erpphe, and that dear old piece of rag. Then hurrah for the brave British soldier, etc. Yes, thousands now are fighting, and thousands are bound to fall, LeaA-mg their wives and children in the hands of us one and all. And since they have done their duty to their country and their Queen, Shall Aye, avlio share their glory, undutiful be deemed, To the mothers, AviA'es, and children of the Avounded and the dead '? Ah, no, our boys have fought for us, and Ave'll see their darlings fed. So pass around the list and the plate, And we'll give Avhat we can Avith a Avill; Though our boys may have met ill fate, We'll show that avo love xhem still. Then hurrah for tha brave British soldier, That stands by the old free land, And amongst them you'll find none bolder, Than our gallant boys from New Zealand. — T. SHORT. Wedderburn, January 29.
