The February number of the Triad is varied as usual, and the illustrations include a very good view of Plymouth breakwater, as well as a trio of Blenheim views — Blenheim in sunshine, snow, and wet; "flood," we should say! Some book notices, jottings on literary, artistic, and scientific matters, a little verse, and an extract — to bs continued in our next — from Tom Hood's " Rule for Making English verse," are all we need mention of the contents. The Review of Reviews for January gives to its world-wide readers a triangular version of the reason why Mr Seddon won the New Zealand elections — (1) "The Government View," by the Hon. J. Twomey; (2) "The Oppositionists' View," by Mr Scobie Mackenzie; (3) "The New Zealand Woman's View, 1 ' by Stella M. Henderson, M.A. The character sketch is of Andrew Carnegie, the millionaire, and is written by Mr Stead. There ore a few special war pictures, and the customary rebume of articles in the magazines and reviews, events within and without the colonies, etc.
