INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS. CHRISTCHURCH, January 27.

The tenth annual meeting of the ~Nevr Zealand Institute of Surveyors was held here to-day. Delegates were present from Wellington, Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. The balance sheet shows a debit of £22 13s 8d on' the receipts and expenditure, and £275 balance of assets over liabilities. The Hon. G-. F. Richardson was elected president ; Messrs J. E. Fulton and O'Donohoo vice-presidents ; J. H. Wild (Palmerstoa North), J. Hay (Dunedin), 0. W. A. Marchant (Wellington), A. H. Bridge (Christchnrcli), E. D. Ward (Wellington), W. Kennington (Auckland) were elected the council. It was resolved to take steps to get at least two non-official members on the board of examiners and bring under th'- V ' notice of the Government the necessity ol an act fixing the alignment of streets.
