Lovely weather was expeiienced for the second dixy of the Wellington Racing Club'd Summer meeting. The attendance was only moderate, but the totalisator investments show only £200 less than on the record attendance on Monday. The machines handled £29,743 for the meeting, as against £24,879 for last- summer. Refills: —

Ideal was the first to break the line, and Mr Ormond's filly led all the way round the back, but nearing the turn from home the field closed up, and here Boreas, who had been whipping in, got on terms with the leaders and simply made no race of it, winning very -easily by three lengths ; Ideal a bad last. Melita and Beddington cut out the running at a merry pace, but at the turn Phocka had a cut in, and coming down the straight it looked as if the latter would win, but The Shannon, on the outside, came under pressure, and catching Phooka within a shoit distance of the post, won all out by a length and a-half.
