The Old Chap Got Left.
As the 3.50 p.m. from Hastings to Charing Cross was about to -start, a young man jumped into a compartment containing the full complement of passengers. A crusty old gentleman occupied the corner seat nearest the platform, and, objecting to an eleventh pafwenger, requested, and finally ordered, the youth to get out. This the latter emphatically refused to do. Bursting with wrath, the old fellow left the carriage and went in search of the guard. Meanwhile, his belongings were deposited on the platform, and his vacant seat taken. "Guard, there's one too many in that compartment, and I insist on that young man's removal" — indicating the culprit. "What're ye talkin' about?" said the guard. "I don't see one too many. There's only five a-side. Right away !" He waved his flag, the train started, and the ill-natured old man was left fuming on the
platform. " Standard " Potato Manure is specially prepared for Potato Crops and where it is used big Yields and prime quality Potatoes are always forthcoming. — Nwuo ANe Blair.
