TENDERS are invited for the PURCHASE of a WATER RACE, TAIL RACE, DAM, SMITHY, MINING TOOLS, etc., at Patearoa. The Water right is for four Heads, and is the prior right from the Sowburn Creek, which is a permanent watercourse, fed from the Rock and Pillar Range. The race is about five miles long, through fairly good country, and requires no exceptional attendance. The race is at a sufficiently high elevation to command all that extensive tract of almost untried country lying between the Sosvburn diggings and the rich ground at Caledonian Gully, a distance of about six miles. For elevating purposes in the locality of the Sowburn Flat the race could be utilised. There is also a large extent of unworked ground at the termination of the race, from which the tail race mentioned — a substantial piece of work is the only outlet.
