THE TICHBORNE CASE.
. « , SYDNEY, December 19. At the Tichborne inquiry, Mr Forbes, a station manager, deposed that he knew Cresswell in 1864. He identified him again in the asylum. When he first knew him ho had tattoo marks and the initials "R. C. T." on his arm. When he saw him in the asylum there was a scar where the tattoo marks were formerly. When travelling with Cresswell the latter had a diary with "R. C. Tichborne" on the fly leaf. The diary was written in French, and with an English translation under each line. Cresswell became intimate with Orton at Wagga. An Order-in-Council in the Gazette notifies that the dato for payment of income tax has been fixed for January 29.
