THE WOOL SALES. LONDON, December 4.
The wool sales were brisk to-day at top prices. December 6. At the wool sales the "Matamata" clip realised 9_d. At the tallow sales 1850 casks were offered, and 1625 sold. - Fine mutton 28a, medium 26s 9d; fine beef 26s 9d, medium 25s 6d. December 7. At the wool sales the "Elderslie" clip sold at 13gd. The wool sales have been again postponed owing to the fog. December 9. At tbe -wool sales yesterday bidding was . less spirited. Prices were unchanged. December 10. The wool market is very firm. Up to date for the present series 88,415 bales . have been catalogued, -,nd 85,194 sold. NAPIER, December 6. The first wool sales of the season were held to-day; 2500 bales were catalogued, , and there was a large and representative attendance of buyers. During the morn- : ing the bidding was very brisk. Lincoln \ crossbred averaged 3d a pound more than 1 last year, and, up" to noon, the highest price realised for .greasy lialfbred was HAd.:
