WESTERN DISTRICT SHOW.
The Western District A. and P. Association held their nineteenth annual show at Riverton on Friday. The exhibits in number and merit were about on a par »vith previous years, but- the attendance of tho public was greatly diminished by the wretchedly cold and showery weather which prevailed, and probably by the knowledge all possessed that everything worth seeing would again be on exhibit at Invercargill show next Tuesday and Wednesday. At no time during the day, notwithstanding a special train run from Invercargill, would the attendance "have exceeded 400. The exhibits in all classes comprised altogether 114- horses, 83 cattle, 112 sheep, 4pigs, and 14 implements. In draught entries Mr R. Cupples's Ringmaster gained first and champion : Mr John M'Farlane (Drummond) carried off first and second for two-year-old colts and first for yeld mares.
