Sir,'— The returns of the no-license poll as«given in your paper seem to be a :<t:\!ng©> jumble. Knapdale is put no license 19. continuance 42. The returning officer gave me tho returns the niptht of the election as no license 42 and continuance M. And as to Waikaka Valley, the same mistake is made. It would be instructive to know who is re- , pponsible for such confusion and falsehood, for there is no doubt that what is true of the places I know.i 3 true of them that one is not co v/ell acouainted with. — I am. etc.. Sir,— On looking over the Otago Daily Timea and Witness Christmas Annual- re history of wrecks, f wish to correct you re the wreck of the s s. London, which date should be January 11, 3S6G, not ISCo. as you have it. There is also the wreck of the s.s. Oscar, at Invercargill Heads, of which 1 sent particulars a month or so ago, not in the list at all. The above was wieckod December IC, lS6l,and I was a passenger by her, and also some of your oldest business men in Dunedin and Inveroargill came from Victoria with her at that time. — I am, etc., THOS.
