TOKOMAIRIRO SHOW.

I The Tokomairiro Farmers' Club held their I thirty-fourth annual summer show at Milton ; yesterday afternoon. The weather was overcast and threatening in tlie morning, but in the afternoon the clouds passed over, and be&utifui weather prevailed. The attendance numbered about 1500. The Milton Brass Band, under Bandmaster King, were present, and played selections during the afternoon. The entries, numbering 342, were about the same as last year, but there was a considerable faliing-off in draught horses. The reason for this -was that a number of the Taieri horses which competed last year were this year conspicuous by their absence. The quality of the local breeds, however, left little to be desired. In cattle, Messrs J. and J. Allison's ! Ayrshire 3 had things mostly their own waj-. Some of them were particularly well bred ani- : mals, and in tho opinion of the judges might i compete at any show in the colony. Tho entries in sheep showed a slight falling-off. In Border Leicester, Mr W. Grey, following the practice of tho past few years, had things pretty well his own way, while Mr H. ~M. Drives had a"' corner " in Southclowns. The dairy produce exhibited was of a high class, especially the butter, and the task of placing the prize-takero was sometimes difficult. There was a good display of implements. Messrs Morrow, Basset, and Co. exhibited a M'Cor- ', mack harvester, and some " Sterling " bicycles. The Massey-Harris Company showed their well-known " wide open " binders, grain and fertiliser drills, Brantford mowers, etc. Reid and Gray was represented by the Deering binder' and other implements, and tho N.Z.L. and M.A. Company exhibited the i Walter A. Wood binder, and a number of implements. Barninghani and Co. had a good j exhibit of ranges, and Messrs Barnes and Co. showed a ligHt buggy and 'spring-cart.
