Was driven out of her course by a heavy gale, and forced by wind and tide between two enormous cliffs, " not less than 2000 ft high." Of the 25 men on board, Captain Dalgarno and 18 others were washed ashore. They were on the island one year and 12 days, and during that time 16 of their number died from cold and privation.
