This competition is now open, and will close on November 30 next. It is for original twomove problems which have not hitherto been published. The prizes are': First prize 2 0
Second prize . . . . . . 111 6 A prize of 10s 6d will be awarded to the solver who gains the highest number of points. Not more than three problems from each composer will be accepted for competition. Problems from both within and beyond New Zealand v>ill be accepted when the letter containing them bears a post mark date not later than November 30 next. The- problems will, at the option 01 competitors, be published either under the composer's name or under a motto. Problems which are before pxiblication found to be unsound will not be published. Publication of the competing problems will be begun as soon as 12 have been received.
