INVERCARGILL, November 23.

Mr Kelly addressed the first meeting of ihis constituents to-night, the theatre being packed. He devoted a good deal of time to explaining why he, being a Liberal, did not Support the Seddon Government through thick and thin. He got a good hearing until he touched on the question of old-age pensions, ithe method of providing money for which he fcad opposed. At the close there was some confusion. The usual vote of thanks and confidence was proposed, to which there was an amendment that the mectiag had no confidence an Mr Kelly. The Mayor declared both carried on the voices, but on a demand for a chow of hands for the motion, he declared it carried. Mr Arthur Morrison was on Monday nominated for the Caversham seat, his nominators !bsing David Stevenson, Robert William Rutherford, Jane Page, and Alice May Chetivr'n. Mr-W. C. Buchanan- has been nominated for ,fcho Wairarapa, seat.' Mr J. White addressed a meeting of Waikouaiti electors in the Sandymount School pn Monday evening. There were about 30 perpresent, Mr Wot. Dick being in the chair. Mr ■White spoke for about an hour and a-half, principally on the lines of the speech he delivered at Port Chalmere. At the conclusion ■Mr James Weipers moved a vote of thanks end confidence, which was seconded by Mr 7><ee, and carried with scclamation.
