HERR ALBERT FRIEDENTHAL.
Dunedin will shortly receive a visit from Herr Albert Friedenthal, a gentleman who has been pronounced by the Australian press to be the greatest pianist who has visited the colonies since Henry Ketteu. In Melbourne and Sydney his success was very marked. The Age described the recitals as an " incomparable one man show.'' Only on two or three occasions when he desired some of his own song or violin compositions to be rendered has Herr Friedenthal sought the assistance of local artists. The Sydney Morning Herald remarks : — " Herr Friedenthal, though he appeared with success in many of the great continental capitals and in the United States, has not appeared in London, and this fact — for in this country it is naturally the English papers that are chiefly read for European news — rendered his name wholly unfamiliar. Henceforth, however, it will sound pleasantly -in Australian ears. He has revealed himself as a pianist of distinguished merit.."
