TRINITY COLLEGE MUSICAL EXAMINATIONS.

WELLINGTON, August' 3. Owing to the non-arrival .of the candidates' number cards for the Trinity College music examinations, an ende'a'votfr was made to postpone them, but Christohurch refused, and the examinations were held as usual. Other centres followed' suit a week later. The circumstances were placed before the Trinity College authorities, and they have cabled that the whole of the examinations must be held again. This will be done in October.-

On the subject of~sending refractory chil« dren to industrial schools, Mr Haselden, S.M., at Wellington, said the other day that hewould much sooner that the boys remained under their parents' control, if the parents could properly look after them, than send the children to industrial institutions.
