The Woodville Examiner reports that some good specimens of gold-bearing quartz have been found on the ranges not many miles from Elcetahuna. Jhe jemetery at Karori, Wellington, was opened in February, 1892, and already no fewer than 3*oo interments have been made. The whole of the area originally set apart for burials (15 acres) has been taken up, and graves are now being made in an adjoining plot. The cemetery reserve, however, is 100 acres in extent.
