AUCKLAND DOG SHOW.
AUCKLAND,, August 4. The Auckland Kennel Club's show and collie championship was opened to-day, when 370 dogs and puppies were benched. The following were awarded champion prizes: — Newfoundlands, W. G. Hutchinson's Prince; greyhounds, W. Cavanagh's Linwood ; retrievers (curly-coated), S. Dawson's Curran Spot; pointers, J. Speer's Ponto and C. Chilcott'a Princess ; setters (English), Graf ton Devon and W. White's Grafton Cora ; setters, M. M'Lean's Punch y collies, J. F. Bills's Poneke Ariki ; NewZealand Collie Club's champion cup and gold medal for best collie in "the open class, Mrs Stubbs; spaniels (cocker), Miss 8., Thorpe's Snider and E. J. Harvey's Thel« ma; spaniels (field), Mr Brodrick's Midday; bulldogs, John Carter's Peter Jackson and H. E. Nicholl's- Maori Princess ;' terriers, G. Herbert's Mararoa IX; Airedale terriers, D. C. Ingram's Bena of Fernland and J. Airedale's Queensbury Don £ Fox terriers, T. Shewring (dogs) and W. B. Hall (bitches) ; Irish terriers, Pvoberb. M'Cullough's Waipawa Con ; Skye terriers, Reid Bros, (dogs and bitches) ; pugs, Miss Lottie Phillips's Dandy.
