LAND BALLOT.

At the Crown Lands office on Thursday, a number of sections that had been thrown open for settlement were taken up, and a ballot was only necessary in one instance. The following sections were selected unopposed: — Sections 11 and 12, block V, Woodlands district, consisting of 3CBa 3r 30p, with a capital value of 7s 6d per acre — David Millar. Sections 32 and 37, block Till, Crookston, consisting of 18a Or 13p, with a capital value of 20s per acre. There were four applicants for this land, and John Harris was successful in the ballot.
