WOOL SALES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cable from their head office under date London, July 15:—"Wool sales closed firm. Out of the net quantity available for sale 146,000 bales have been sold for home consumption, 68,000 for the Continent, 2000 for America, leaving 18,000 bales to be carried forward to next series. Compared- with closing rates of last series, merino 'and fine crossbred wools are 7£ to 10 per cent, higher, coarse crossbreds |d to Id lower, medium crossbreds being on a par. Prospects for merino wools for ensuing sales are favourable."
