ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

(Per Uxitkd Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 19. In spite of the rough weather there were fairly large yardings of stock at Addington, including 5,709 fat sheep, 1600 fat lambs, 1687 store sheep, 472 cattle, and 330 pigs. Fat Cattle.—The 198 head yarded were mostly secondary sorts, which niet with a sluggish sale, and experienced a further drop, while a few really-good bullocks from the North Island met with -fair competition, selling at from £8 10s to £10 18s, while ordinary steers ran from £3 10s to £6, and up to £7 17s Gd for better class. Good heifers brought £6 to £7, others down to £3 10s,' and cows from £3 10s to £6 10s. Per 1001b best beef ruled from 16s to 18s; medium, 14s 6d to 15s Gd; inferior down to 12s. Fat Sheep.—The fat sheep included a, fair proportion of good freezing sheep, which met a xeady sale at quite up to late rates, bringing 15s 6d to 18s 6d. Prime young trade ewes also sold well, the best from 14s to 16s 3d, and fair to good 12s to 13s 6d. Inferior sorts were in over supply, and were dragging considerably at Jroru 9s to lls. Good medium-weight freezing hoggets sold well at from 14s to 17s 6d, but the heavier sorts, which would have to go as togs, met less demand than of Jate, and unfinished sorts and butchers' line 3 were slightly easier at from lls to 13s Gd. Store Sheep. 1 — These were mostly breeding ewes, and this class were firmer and in good demand, selling at from 13s 2d to 16s 3d, according to age; but wethers and hoggets were slightly easier, the former at from 13s 2d to 14a, and hoggets 8s Id to lls Id. j Pigs.—The bulk of the pigs were small stores, •which sold well, and the scarcity of fats caused prices to harden. Baconers realised 3Jd; and porkers 4|d to 5d per lb. Per head baconers fetched 42s to 48s; porkers, 28s to 44s 6d; stores, 21s Gd to 345; weaners, 13s to 15s; and suckers', 9s 3d to 12s 3d.
