The Champion Gold Mining Company (Limited) were unable to elevate last week owing to the severe frost. The manager, previous to this, washed down the top boxes for 4oz lldwt 6gr.

In response to inquiries made we learn from tho secretary of the Flat Dredging Company that boring operations on the ground are being proceeded with, but will not be completed for 10 days or a fortnight. Mr Roberts reports that three bores have so far been bottomed, and that the ground is quite satisfactory for dredging purposes.

The first statutory meeting of shareholders of the Vincent Extended Gold Dredging Company (Limited) was held on Tuesday night, when the following were elected directors: — Messrs Geo. Knox, Chas. O. M'Kellar, Thos. Rodger, Hugh Adam, Ceo. Spencer (Alexandra South), and Dr T. G. M'Kellar. Mr Jas. Brown was appointed auditor, and Mr C. j3. Reeves secretary. Mr Ha-rnian Reeves reports the, flotation of the Last Chance -Gold , Dredging Company (Limited), with a nominal capital of £4500. A considerable number of applications from Alexandra had to be struck out. The companj is formed to purchase the Island Basin dredge, and Ranfurly claim. The claim consists of one mile of the river some distance below where the Manuherikia current wheeler has been getting her ISOoz weekly. It is expected the Last Chance will get to work about Monday, next, and as the river is low she- should do well.

The directors of'the Golden Beach Hydraulio Elevating nnd Dredging Company have . declared a dividend (the 7th) 'of one shilling per share, payable on the Ist August.
