WAIWERA.

July 17. — The weather still continues fine for this season of the year — frosty nights and clear days having been the order of things for some time. Genoial woik is well on,, feed is plentiful, and s-tock in good condition.

Changes. — I aiii sorry indeed to say that our little community is getting a general shaking up, many changes taking place. It is not at all pleasant to find such a state of change and unrest prevailing. Mi Glover had a very successful sales last week, stiul I am sure we are all highly pleaeed at the result. Mrs Cooke's sale will be held, all being well, before this noto appeals iv print. I also wish her well. The soio cause o£ Mrs Ccoke's sale is her failing health and a serious illness. I fear there is little hope of Airs Cooke and her family evor settling again among us in their ouce happy liltlo homo. This is much to bo regretted, and wherever the inniily decide to make their home they will certainly Jiave in Waiwera many tru- and (sympathetic friends to wish them well.

Convalescent. — I am pleased to state that Mi J. A. Anderson, who met with such a serious accident a while ago is recovering. He had a very narrow escape from being killed. As it was, the result proved serious and painful, and much sympathy was felt for him and his family.

Agricultural Machinery. — I am told that Mr Duthie, of Milton, is willing to send a, new kind of spring tine cultivator to the district for a trial should our farmers desire it. It ie < a good plan to give farmers an opportunity of seeing for themselves what new machinery is capable of doing before they are asked to purchase.
