TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES AT SEA.

The steamer Ouraka, from Sydney, experienced the full force of the gales, and was compelled to heave-to for a time. The deck fittings and stores were washed overboard and the saloon flooded.
The German steamer Augsburg, bound from Sydney to Colombo with horses, had a fearful passage up the coast. As the gale increased a terrible scene' was enaoted
on the well deck forward. The seas tore away the stalls, the horses were dashed about and many ripped open, the entrails being strewn about the deck. Forty-three horses were killed.
