OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting of the above association was held in. Mr Duncan's office on Monday, the 10th, and was attended by Messrs D. Reid, jun. (chairman), P. Duncan, J. Wood, Dr Fulton, G. C. Proudfoot, W. G. Somerville, R. N. Adams, T. K. Sidey, H. Mercer, and L: Langlands. Correspondence was read and several accounts passed for payment. Donations from several member,* were received with thanks. It was resolved ; 7—" That six meeting be hold during the year, two of which are to be devoted to reunions, and the other four to the reading of paper**, etc., the first meeting to be held in August, of which due notice will be given. That December 31, 1899,' be fixed on as the' latest date to receive photographs ; the classification for shields to be then proceeded with." -All photos left with Messrs Wigglesworth and Binns, the contractors, must be called for by parties leaving 'them ; if sent to the hon. secretary, box 234, they will be returned by him ; postage must be prepaid. The deaths of the following early settlers were -ecorded : — Messrs Burns and Stevenson (of steamer Ohau), Mr G. D. Hepburn and Mrs M'Nicol. Ten new members were approved. The sum of £9 8s was subscribed by members of committee present us a donation to the funds. '
