SECOND GRADE FLAG MATCHES.
The match between Kaikorai and University was played at Bishopscourt, when the j former won by 28 points to nothing. Neither ! side was fully represented, nevertheless a fine i open and enjoyable game was the result. Kaikorai winning the toss, 'Varsity kicked off j with the sun in'.tfoir "eyes. During the first I 20 minutes the -Varsity had slightly the betI ter of things. Kaikorai afterwards showed [ some fine form, and the passing rushes of their i backs were'admirable. Heenan (3), Wilkinhson (2),- Smith, Williamson, and Edwards (1) I scored tries for the winners, Williamson conj verting two. Mr Bremner, as referee, gave entire satisfaction. A very even and keenly-contested-game was played on the North ground between the ~Union A and Union O teany, victory resting with the "former- by the narrow margin of a. -potted goal, smartly kicked by Howison., The ground was in a very muddy condition. The Alhambra- met the Port Chalmers Club | on the Reclaimed ground, which was in a. very soft state. After a severe struggle, the Alhambra were returned victors by one try to nothing, A. King being responsible for scoring. - All played so well that it would be unfair to single out anyone for special mention. Mr J. Croxfo'rd, as referee, gave general satisfaction. • , -The-High School met and - defeated, tho Pirates Aby 6 points to nothing. For the 'winners Kinder and T. Gilray' aoored trice, neither of which was' converted. Mr Barir made a very efficient referee. The Zingari-Richmond defeated the Dunedin by 18 points to nothing. For.the winners Ellis, Eccles, Proctor, Henderson, 'Strang, and MlVickar scored. ' Wallace and Clark for the Zingari, and Stalker for the Dunedin Also played well. Mr Jffferson made an impartial referee. Rarvensbourne won by default from the Union B, as the latter have withdrawn from, the contest. . '
