Mr Reid, the Premier, on behalf of the Premiers of the other colonies, has wired to Sir J. Forrest, Premier of Western Australia, warning him against any breach of the agreement arrived at at the Melbourne conference with regard to the Commonwealth Bill, and urging him to fulfil his promise and submit the measure to the people ; also pointing .out the impossibility of making any further amendments, and ' the special treatment provided in the case' of West Australia, which under the 'book-keeping system amply safeguards her interest. MiReid also- points out the advantages of joining the federation as an original State.
