ANOTHER OFFENSIVE AFFIDAVIT.

WELLINGTON, May 31.

James Carson, a litigam, who has frequently been" before the Supreme Court with respect to bis claim as assignee of Henry Baucke to property at the Chatham Islands, appeared before Mr Justice Edwards to-day with the intention of moving to strike off tbft file notice of motion to set aside a writ of service of action. He said he had filed an affidavit and ■ proposed to read it, but >. the judge forbade him, and warned him not to make any remarks reflecting on a judge of the cburt. 4 Carson, however, ' read the affidavit through, punctuated by commands from the judge to stop, of which he took no notice. The affidavit turned out to be -a : violent -.attack on Judge Edwards himself. At the end the judge ordered Carson to appear, on Friday morning to show cause why he, should not br committed for contempt of court.
