THEOSOPHY.

At Currio street Hall, Port Cha^ners, on Thursday evening, Miss Lilian Edger lectured on " Christianity and TheoEophy." Tha tenets of the Trinity and the Atonement were examined and found, according to -the 1 leoturess, to be identical, when rightly understood, with the doctrines of the other great religions of the world. Jesus Christ was at perfected soul, who had finished the long course of evolution, and through Him tha power of God was poured.for tho help and guidance of tho world, the atonement consisting in becoming at one with God through the gradual purification and finid perfection of the human soul. The doctrine of the Trinity was analysed and found to consist of throe aspects of the one God., The Father waa Ihe life, the upholder of ail; the Son, the organising or incarnate God, preserving tho forms through which He manifested as long as they served the purposes of evolution; and. the Holy Ghost was th« intelligence which, brooding over primeval matter, brought forth, the worlds, and is still in course of gradual manifestation in every t.totn. Mr A. W. Maurais was in tho chair*, and the audience were fairly numerous and very attentive. Ar the Theosophical Se«isi9ty's rooms on Friday night a meetings ww ktM for the purpose of enabling friends and investigators an opportunity of asking Miss Edger questions on the subject of Theosophy. An hour and a-half was pleasantly and profitably spent, and the meeting was much indebted to Miss Edge* for her lucid explanations. To-morrow night, at the board room, Agricultural Hall, Misa Edger will give a publio lecture on " Tho Mystery of Death."
