Pather Murphy, John, second-son of the late John Loft, Arrowtown, to Catherine, second daughter of James M'Namara, Cottesmere Farm, Kyeburn. PREEDY— SIMMONS.— On the 19th April, by the Rev. Prebendary Martyn, at th.c Parish Church, Ilfracombe, N. Devon, the Rev. William W. Preedy, only son of the late Vice-admiral Preedy, C.8., to Beryl Churchill Simmons, third daughter of the late Rev. Frank C. Simmons, formerly headmaster of the Nelson College, and previously lector of High School, Dunedin.
DEATHS. BARNETT.— On the 30th May, at her residence, Wellington, Julia, wife of Alfred A. Barnett. BUCHANAN.—Drowned from N.Z.G. steamer Hinemoa, at East Cape, Auckland, on the 2nd June, 1599, Neil Buchanan, native of Breakish Strath, Isle of Skye, Scotland ; aged 29 years. Deeply regretted. TOWLE.— On the 2nd June, at High street, Dunedin, Henry Francis Towle (H. T. Harrison, late - musical director -of Pollard's Opera Company) ; aged 51. WILLIAMSON.— On June 3, at his parents' residence, Mansfordtown, Port Chalmers, George T. S., the beloved and only son of Thomas and Mary Williamson ; aged eight " years. Deeply regietted.
