Restored.

Once oi twice in the year the German Emperor attends the shooting parties of Land-, rath Dietze at Barby. Amongst the guests there used tc be a lawyer from Leipzig, a very witty man, who also took part in -the. games of " skat " which finished up the evenings. Despite the low stakes the lawyer, who had very bad luck, once lost twenty marks.. Laughingly he exclaimed :

" 1 have got into a regular robbers' den."

Everybody roared with laughter, the Emperor as heartily as the rest. When his Majesty was staying the following year at Barby again, and noticed the lawyer, he went up to him, handed him a twenty-mark -piece set in diamonds, in the form of a scarf, pin, and said: "Restored by the robbers."
