Simple Simon went to look If plums grow on a thistle; He pricked hia fingers very much, Which made poor Simon whistle.

The two men in the picture [Presumably shown at school. — Dot.] are dressed up,- one in soldier's clothes and the other in sailor's clothes. They are going to deceive people and get money. One of them is going to say that lie ha 3 been a soldier fighting in one of the recent war 3 and got hit in the leg by a bullet. The other is dressed in 'Sailor's clothed, and he is going to say that he was a> sailor in a ship which was at anchor. The people say to each other : "It is a pity to see these men who have helped to defend the country roaming about in this manner." -,Tha people give them money and they go back to Whitechapel. They are called the "Whitechapel heroes " because there are very few men who do the same thing as these two.
