The estates of 29 deceased persons were, during -the month of April, placed under tho charge of the Public Trustee for administration. The Mount Ida Chronicle states that Mr T. Perham, C.E., engineer for water conservation, after viaiting the Eweburn reservoir works, expressed himself as well pleased with the progress being made with the embankment, which has now been raised to a height of between 28ft and 30ft. An endeavour is being made to complete the works before .the spring floods. Mr Perham will report suggest- " ing a deviation of the railway at Ida valley so as to go round a site which he considers mutable for an irrigation reservoir*
