' 1 BRISBANE, April 16. j The German cruiser Corihora, from Hongkong to Samoa, where^she was to hare relieved the Bussard, has arrived here with her masts gone and otherwise in a damaged condition. En roiite she culled ar (Serman New Guinea, and left again on March 23. Next morning she went aground hard and fast on Whirlwind Reef. After six days and nights' continuous labour ai\d cutting away the main and foremasts', j throwing overboard the steam steering goai, refrigerating machinery, and everything portable except the guns, ammunition, and stores, the crew managed to get her off. A number of the sheathing planks were destroyed, but the hull is undamaged. She goes to Sydney for repairs, which are expected to take three months.
