TO THE- EDITOB.. Sir,—With your land permissionv I wish to ask the directors of the above- company why no dividends have been declared for some considerable time now? Will'the usual weekly returns from the* dredge—about 40 ounces—not justify a sixpenny dividend' every three weeks?—T am, etc., April 11. ' Shabeholotr.
In connection with the collapse of a roc? at the Adelaide railway station last year, when a. man named Crowley was killed, the Railway Commifisioner has granted £100 in cash to Crowley's mother, and £1 per week during her life.' Other men who were injured received payments as follows- — J. Baker, ./. Butler, K. Rosseil, 11. A. Adams, and L. M'Mahon, each £250; A. Linlon. £300. Ju. addition to those amounts tho men were paid their wngns until tho doctor certified tfiey were able to work agaiu.
