The adjourned meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held at tho board's office, Highcliff, on the 11th, and was attended by Messrs
otuart (chairman), M'Curdy, Howe, and Gunn. ] . A- circular was received from the Bank of "New Zealand, asking the board to pass a resolution to borrow by way of overdraft up to : the legal limit. — A resolution was passed ac- J cordingly. Mr John Robertson resigned his j seat for- the Sandymount sub-division. — The ' clerk was instructed to publicly notify the vacancy. A letter was read from the Portobello Road Board, re Beach road. — Received. A cir- j cnlar was read from the Agricultural depart- , - ment, re dairy inspection. — Received. It was ' zesolved to_ in struct the surfacemen to resume ' their duties on Monday, 'the 17th inst. A letter was read from Messrs J. Weiper and G-. ! Boss, re deviation at Sandymount, 'agreeing ! to the following terms : Culvert to be lifted and ' new road fenced, and the sum of £20 to be paid for compensation for land taken. — It was resolved to accept Messrs Weiper and Ross's offer. Accounts for £23 10s--10d were passed for payment.
