The expenses of the institution amounted t<% £4171 6s 2d. The expenses for maintenance amounted to £4012 6s — an increase on the prsw vious year of £593 13s. The charges are fo* .cost of food, clothing, fuel, house furnishing?, salaries of master, matron, servants, and doc? tor, medicine, funerals, municipal rates, half office expenses, and all working expenses in connection with the institution. The weekljp average was 287, as against 278 last year, wjiicfi gives a charge of 5s 4Jd per head per week. The amount disbursed on outdoor relief was £6369 17s 9d — an increase of £8 13b 7d on pra» vious year. This includes tho payment pf £110 6s 6d on account ot children hoarded out.
