LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messia J. P. Maitland (chief commissioner), H. H. Kirk£>atrick, J. Duncan, H. Clark, and W. Dnllas. Ranger Mackenzie reported upon the applications of Roderick Poison for sections 1, 2, and 13, block 111, Tarras district, and of William Barneston for part ot section 1 of the same block. — Recommended for notification, sections 1 and 2 at 7s per acre and section. 13 at 12s per acre capital values. Andrew Fraser wrote with regard to section 9, block 111, Dart district. — Resolved that the section referred to be included in Runs 346b and 346 c when offered. Ranger Atkinson reported upon the position of section 4, block VII, Highlay district, about 12 acres, fenced in and occupied by RobeTt Gibson.— Yearly license granted to Robert Gibson at a rental of Is per acre. district — education reserve. — Yearly license granted to the applicant at a rental of 15s. The application of Hugh M'Leod for a license to occupy sections 8, 9, 19, 20, and 21, block LIX, town of Hampden, was granted at a rental of 2s 6d per section; the application of Joseph Watterns for a license to oocupy sections 5 and 6, block X, tojyn of Moeraki, was declined; the application of Mrs J. H. S. Shaw (forwarded by D. Reid, jun.) to have the bush reserve adjoining section 51, block XV, Maungatua district, opened for selection was declined; the board deferred consideration of the applications of Mathew and James M'Knight for occupation leases over sections 2 and 3, block XIII, Blackstone; the application of B. W. Geddcs to surrender his perpetual leases over sections 12 and 14, block IV, Woodland district, and section 18, block VIII, Catlins, was referred to the ranger for a report, as were also the following applications to surrender: — George Taylor, section 22, block VII, Woodland district; Margaret Langmuir, section 16, block X, Woodland district; the application of Mrs Tubnian to be allowed to withdraw her application to exchange her deferred payment lease over section 8, block XIII, Benger district, for a lease in perpetuity was granted. Valuations of improvements upon Run 121p, Waikouaiti, held under temporary license by Hugh Fraser, were received. The Lawrence Borough Council applied to have an area of 7a lr 5p adjoining section 20, block XIX, Tuapeka East district, vested in the Borough as a site for a reserve.—Granted. The following sections in block XII, Tautuku, were recommended for notification at a capital valixe of 5s per acre: — Section 18, 165 a Or lOp; section 23, 172 a 3r 27p; section 24, 151 alr 8p; section 26, 134 aOr 35p; section 27, 110 a2r 22p; section 28, 207 aOr 13p; section 29, 190 a3r 33p; section SO, 155 a2r fep; section 31, 148 aBr 28p; section 32, 148 a3r 29p; section 33, 114 aOr 13p; section 34, 143 a Or 16p; section 35, 151 a3i 2p; section 36, 92a Or 34p; section 37, 148 aOr 8p; section 38, 88a Or 32p ; section 39, 118 aOr 24p. The board adjourned till Tuesday next.
