A FATHER ATTACKS HIS DAUGHTERS. AUCKLAND, October 19.

Frederick Allen George Cotterell, a retired English solicitor, living at Mount Albert, got out of bed this morning and entered the bedroom of his daughters Beatrice (16 years) and Florence (14 years), and assailed them by striking them on the head with a stone-hammer. The girls are unable, through their injuries, to make a statement. It appears Cotterell bought a revolver a few days ago, but the family hid it -away. He met Dr Walker a month ago and said people were going to attack his house and family, and he would repel them. Dr Walker thinks the man is suffering from mental delusions. Cotffcerell has been arrested on a charge of assaulting his daughters with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
